Jay's Ruby TXT-1

Do you have a great looking truck with our parts on it?  Well we want to see it!  Send us the pictures and description of your truck to info@vertigoperformance.com and we may show it on this page.

It was first shown to the world at Monster Jam 3 in Bradenville, PA and took 1st in concours and 2nd in the shaft driven class.

The Ruby Project concept was to take a basically a stock TXT-1 and add some special touches, one of them being the color. As far as I know, no one has attempted to anodize their TXT-1, so I decided to take the plunge! :)
It took about a month and a half to get everything to my doorstep (just in time for MJ3). Talk about meeting a deadline!!!!! :D :lol
The most obvious is the completely red anodized chassis and skids.

I would like to thank Clayton of Vertigo Performance for providing the full skid assortment and the color for the main chassis and all the aluminum links! :D
I would also like to thank Dev2K for pushing me to get a TXT-1 in the first place! See how addictive the Monster Jams can be!!!!! ;)

It really needs to be experienced in person to *really* appreciate the electrpolishing and deep anodizing of all the parts!!!
Those that were at MJ3 know what I mean! :)

Ruby Projekt runs on full ball bearings, including the cantilevers, Hitec 5625MG digital servo, Novak Tempest ESC, Novak XXL receiver, a pair of Integy Red anodized motor heatsinks, a set of Assocaited Maxx shocks polished by John Boyer ;) , dual Orion Rush 13X2 mod motors with stock gearing and the "Motor Man" touch! ;)

Onto the body details.
The body is the stock clear one which comes in the TXT-1 kit.
I airbrushed various combinations of fastchange blue and fasescent candy red as well as some silver and black.

In the above pic I cut out the grille area as well as 2 places on the front bumper to install my trademark wire mesh which I painted black and applied them to the body using some silicone sealant. A Tamiya logo was also affixed to the main grille area.
Notice the reflection of my digicam on the front bumper. This is due to the Alclad II chrome paint I used on the bumpers.
Stormer Hobbies stocks this paint.
