One issue with the HPI Baja is that the rear wheels rub and very quickly wear out the rear A-arms and the rear shock ends.
Vertigo Performance 8mm wideners eliminate this problem without causing undue stress on the axles, bearings and hub carriers.
Vertigo Performance tested various width wideners and found the 8mm is the minimum we could go without the rim wearing the arm and shock end and it was the maximum we could go without causing undo stress on the hub carriers, bearing and axles.
We have retained the original mounting system by adding end cap to keep dirt from piling up inside of the axle which would make it difficult to remove the retaining screw that holds the axle pin in place as well as incorporating a bearing shield that protects the axle bearing from rocks and debris.
Machined (not extruded) from solid 6061 Aluminum makes them durable as well several holes were also drilled in the widener to reduce weight and rotating mass without affecting the integrity of the product.
In the end the result was a light, durable and effective widener anodized in a titanium color to protect them from oxidizing.
