This part comes with the carrier and is sold as a spare should something happen to the original part.

Pinion shaft can be removed using a 7mm socket, no fiddling with 1/8 turns to get nowhere and frustrated.
Vertigo pinion shafts also allow you to use a drill to rotate drive train to check gear mesh and correct function before hitting the track or your favourite bashing grounds.
